New to the boards

Hello everyone. My name is Shayne and I am new to the boards. I currently do not own an RX-8 but am looking to purchase one soon. My main reason for joining this forum is to expand my knowledge of the car I am planning to purchase in the near future. Within a few months I hope to buy a used 2006 RX-8. Your knowledge and help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Haha. That's a start. Thanks! I guess I should have been a little clearer...a few of the questions I have:

1.) Are there any model years I should avoid while looking for a new car? I was thinking about going with an 06 or newer?
2.) What are some things I should look for as far as the powerplant goes? To determine wear and how well it'll hold up and how well it's been taken care of?
3.) And I've heard about the extended warranty. Is this only if you buy a NEW car? Or Certified Pre-owned? Or just any pre-owned RX-8?

I know these are alot of annoying, newb questions. But it'd be a great help!

Yeah...I'm also bored. That's why I'm still up at this ungodly hour. Haha.

What are some things I should look for when I go to look at an 8? I'm new to the whole no pistons game...I'm not sure what to look for? Signs of abuse and such? And thanks for your help man. Are rotarys really unreliable? Or does it just depend on how it's been driven and maintained?

the extended warranty covers ALL 8s in north america from 04 to 08, but it only covers the core engine itself...
