New to the 8
Hello,
I just picked up my 8 on Friday, loving it, and wanted to introduce myself and her here. Not planning on any major mods, as opposed to the last car, because so far I don't think it needs anything I do try to research and learn everything I can about the car though, so that's why I'm here.
Looked at about a dozen RX's before settling on this 2004 GT:
The 8 is replacing my Toyota Paseo which I've owned for 10 years, daily drove, turboed, raced, rallied, autocrossed, rebuild, raced some more and finally decided to move over to RWD. Fell in love with the RX, was a bit worried about that rotary, convinced myself through reading that it won't happen to me :P, and so here we are
The old lady..
So ya. Just saying hi!

Welcome and thanks for the pic. Is it a manual? How many miles?
Personally, I'd lose the sunroof visor (it blights car) and the blingy gas cap. Also get clear side marker covers (aka clear corners).
Have fun reading the threads and searching. Make sure to ask informed questions if you want an informed answer from longtime owners.

Sweet....
You got the best color for sure.
Not much of a mod but look into some clear corners.
IMO they look really good on Silver.
Makes the car look "cleaner"....
Check them out and do what you feel.

Thanks for the warm welcomes!
It's the 6sp (track duty is in this car's future) full load except navi. It only has 30,000km on the clock (~22,000mi?), never wintered, hardly ever driven at all lately, always maintained at the dealer and generally babied. The interior and exterior are impeccable.
About the visor: yeah, I'm not really feeling it either... maybe highway 0.5mpg to be gained by removing it :p The gas cap I'm still thinking about.. it came with the original one as well, but as blingy as it is, I might stick with the chromed one.
I need to adjust my clutch pedal though, the engagement point is too high.
I'd love me some boost, but I want to stay in STS or STX classes, to stay competitive. With the old car I had modded my way all the way to SM going up against 600hp STi's and Miatas, and that's kinda futile lol..

Good purchase bro. Welcome to the rotary family. You will love it. Just make sure you rev it to max (until it beeps) 1-3 times a day (to clean out the carbon from the engine). Also keep an close eye on the engine oil level. I think you may have known about it already but ya keep your oil leveled tip top. Until your next oil change (cuz this car is designed to sip oil like crazy due to the rotors trying to lubricate themselves). Check your oil level after every 1-2 fill ups and keep a quart of oil jus as a spare to fill up if your oil is low. Again. Welcome! peace.
