There are two options to this brother, You can get a tranny swap, which is where they switch the transmission from at to mt. the bad thing is that ur cars vid # is registered as a at, and ur resale of the car will go way down knowing that the tranny has been switched. I would recomend, trading ur at for an mt. i know they wont do a strait trade, but im sure you can find someting and negociate. So expect to spends some money either way. good luck brother. and beleave me.... u will have so much f***in fun with ur mt.

what are you talking about, the AT and MT cars are totaly differnt.

The AT has a 4port motor and the MT has a 6port motor, its not as easy as just swaping the trany. firt of all you have to install a clutch assemly and everything...way to much work/money.

if you want a 6speed, sell/trade in your car and get the MT, but expect to spend a few grand to get the MT.

As for why your parents didnt get you a MT in the first place i dont know....the fact that you got the car a year ago and now are swaping it out for another is crazy, your loosing money.

If you leased the vehicle it might be a little easyer.

anyway, the MT is great, and if you already love the performance of the AT you will fall in love again with the MT, at least get the sport pack...if not more...the car is so much better with the bigger brakes and such.

happy motoring :p

If your parents are willing to pay for the swap, go for it... it's not your money right? I mean, it's definitely going to cost you a few thousand extra just to swap because..

1) Depreciation of the car

2) It's a Manual, cost more.

I'd rather kill myself than do that...I hope I'm not alone. (I see SRT-4's on the road and think: what's next, a high performance Cavalier?)
