Need help, drive line shutter when Hot.

About a year ago I started to notice a shutter in the drive line after I drove the car for over an hour on the express way. It was only evident when I would put the car in reverse and engage the clutch. summer only. When it first happened I though something big had broke. It would happen all last summer when the car was hot.

It disappeared in the winter but I just did a 2 hour highway drive last weekend and it hit again. This time I noticed it in 1st gear also. It felt/sounded like the clutch was slipping then catching every fraction of a second for a few seconds. It was more prominent in reverse. Once the car cold off it went away.

At first I wasn't sure were it was coming from, but now I suspect the clutch. Any ideas here? The car has only 20K miles on it and does not display any other symptoms of clutch slippage, no burning smell, no slipping, etc... I've driven clutches for the last 30 years and never burnt one out. I'm at a lose as to what is wrong.

Nope, bought it new. It is a 05 GT 6spd, again first noticed this over a year ago, actually not last summer but the one before. When it first started to happen I thought it was something in the rear differential area. But as of this weekend I think it might be clutch related but am not sure.

I think I have that same shutter. It also happens when the car is hot and only when I am letting the clutch go to move the car either forward or backwards. I heard that it could be the LSD. But im not really sure.

I originally thought it could be that but the Torsen differential is a gear unit that has no clutch plates that I am aware of. I can't see what would be slipping or making the shutter.

Possibility but I don't think this is the issue. My 05 is a a late model year production outside the scope of the TSB. Also the description of this problem is different then what I reported and I have not experienced the symptoms that the bulletin describe.

Do you have any other information as to why you may think this is the problem?

I to thought the shutter was from my pack end. It is very bad when hot and I hit reverse quickly. What about yours?

PPF has shifted?

Put it up and have them check the alignment on the PPF

Low on rear end fluid?

How could the PPF shift? If it did would not there be an issue all the time rather then when the car is hot?

Whats PPF Stand For? I searched online, and through the forum, i'm pretty sure it's not a Financial Institution definition.

I haven't changed motor mounts. The car was rear ended about 3 years ago, no metal damage but the jackass did destroyed the rear bumper and impact material. Could this have missaligned the PPF? Also if it is misaligned what actually causes the chattering noise?

Thanks in advance.
