Need help buying an 2009 rx-8

hey everybody, Im new here, 25 yrs old and going to be a father soon and I definitely need a car. Thinking of getting an RX-8 for the longest. Ive browsed through craigslist, and yahoo autos and found this

http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/maz...da&distance=50

mind you ive never bought/owned/leased a car because I live in NY where buses/subways are 24hrs. Ive heard so many good things and also, unfortunately so many bad things with Rotary engines, particularly the rx8 04-06. any 2009 owners here that would like to enlighten me?? thanks in advance.

Try this thread for most of the basics that address your concerns.

Start with learning about the 8, BEFORE trying to pick one out that you think you want. Because it might be a bad deal.

Check the oil every two fills of the gas tank. When you start the car cold never shut it off until it's completely warmed up. Perform regularly scheduled maintenance. That's about it. Good luck and enjoy.

It's good until your kid is tweleve. Then the back sit may be a little small.

Depends. If the parents are at the dizzying height of 5ft 1in, that kid is probably good through his early 20s...

Just don't stress your budget. We are in inflationary times so your food and bills will go up. Leave plenty room for money. This car is not a good car for a primary family car. This should be an alternate vehicle. You will want something bigger for kids unless you have other cars.

pleaase ^ my RX-8 was the Preimary family cars for years while my wife had a ranger. I purchased it as the primary family car and both babies came home from being born in the RX-8. The boys go grocery shopping in the car with me. I just got home an hour ago from the grocery store with them after picking the oldest up from school. I can take the umbrella stroller in the trunk and still get a weeks worth of groceries. We can all four go to the beach for the weekend in th e8.

the big question for the OP is "why do you need a car now?"
