Need Help!

Ok guys, i'm really sorry for this and i know its frowned upon asking stuff like this, but i need some answers. I cant find the information i need from the search bar on this site, neither can i find it on the internet. I dunno maybe im just looking in the wrong places. But anyway my question is about the continuous refilling of oil in the 8'. Now ive heard different things pertaining to how often you have to put oil in it, but i know that it's just an average and it varys from car to car. But what i'm basically asking is that all you have to do is just pour some oil through the oil cap every couple fillups (average what ive heard) and thats it? Is it more of a hassle then that or what? Just wanna know the real deal. Thank you.

Does not speak well for the search engine. Out of curiosity, what terms are you searching under?

What you've heard is exagerated bunk. Oil use varies, but it's typically no more than a quart or so between changes. Since there is just under two quarts between the full and empty marks on the stick...you do the math.

A lot of us are O-C and will top off when we're down half a quart. A practice encouraged by the fact that sticks on newer 8s have marks at half quart intervals.

Mazda recommends checking the oil every other fillup. Fun when the car is new, but it doesn't take long to realize that's kind of overkill.

Just check the stick at reasonable intervals. If it shows not full (consult your inner **** retent for threshold), take off the oil cap and pour that much into the pipe. Don't overfill - that leads to all kinds of angst.

That reminds me, I havent checked the oil in a while.

It takes a couple minutes to refill the oil, no big deal at all. Real easy, just read the manual.

Thats basically it, add oil when it gets low, it's an oil injected engine if it's not burning oil your in trouble. If you drive it hard it will burn more oil. Track days, top it off before you start and check it after a while. There are seven quarts in it when it's full and about five when its at the low mark on the dip-stick. This is my seventh rotary(523,000 miles on rotaries) I have normally just changed the oil and filter when it gets near the low mark, usually 2-4K miles.
