Need advice.

Ok so I found an RX8 for a guy is willing to sell me for 4,500$ It has over 200k miles on it and doesn't run.
I have been looking to build a HPDE TT ect car and I and really thinking hard about picking this up for just that. I'll gut the car and put a cage in it. This thing would be sitting in my yard right now if the LS swap kits were already out.

Anyways with HPDE it's all about fun so nothing really matters for that, but has anyone run or seen how the RX8's stack up in TT. For now I would just be rebuilding or swapping in the same motor. Are/will s2000's and miatas be blowing past me? The 350z seem to be dam fast in TT so I don't know if I would come close with those.

I've never seen a RX8 on the track. Please don't b.s. me cause you got a love for the car. We are talking lots of money that I will be putting into a car. I could just build a miata or something but I want a sexy car like a RX8 on the tracks to play with if possable.

Ha ha your funny.

The car will handle like **** with a Vette motor.

AndI have seen two of them with an LS motor two years ago.

I don't know where you are bit there are RX8 everyehere in HPDE.

When you rebuild the motor anf FI it, you won't have a problem with the 350Z

LS1 engine is only a little heavier than a Renesis. The problem is it's weight is up higher and more forward in the car. This changes the balance. I would think you would be better off and left with more $ in you pocket by going with a 13B REW for a strictly NASA TT car.
The RX8 is the best handling car I have ever driven. I can keep up with a Corvette C5 Z06 on the track in the twisties driven by a competent driver. Out brake him entering a corner. Then he runs away on the straight. Both cars were mostly stock.
I spent thousands of dollars modifying my RX7's for racing (see sig). They never handled as good as my RX8 did stock.

Bad wording on my part like always. If the LS1 kit was out this would be a daily driver/toy lol.

For now I'm talking stock 6 port motor no turbo or anything. The car will be gutted, the nav and everything will be sold to recover some of the cost. I was just looking on Ebay and the stuff out of these cars seems to go for pretty cheap though

Talk to Paul at MAZMARt. He is one of out vendors here on the forum.

Have him build a motor for you and get it ported, add header, new clutch and flywheel, BHR coils and Cobb Access Port
