I bet a lot of you are saying the White is great simply because it's the 'New' color in the group. If it was in the initial release, white wouldn't be exactly the most popular color. :P

I still think Mazda isn't using their other color options on the RX-8 as they have done on their Mazdaspeed Protege's or Miata lines. Heck, go back to RX-7 days with their flashy colors... No risk taking whatsoever with Mazda USA... White? Uhhgg...

To me, those pics definitely don't look like anything special. However, no rx8 color looked special to me until I saw them all in person. I think some of our views would change on a bright sunny day on a fully detailed white rx8. I wouldn't buy white, but when I got my black rx8, I had a hard time choosing because silver looks so sweet, as did all the color cars. I think though that white will be more popular then yellow, because although there are many people who love yellow, most wouldn't buy it, and i think white is going to be more popular overall then yellow ever was.

Personally, I originally wanted a silver one, until I saw what the silver looked like under (bad) streetlights. Now I'm leaning towards blue, although I want to see the white in person before taking the plunge.

The point is (IMO) that you can't pick the color based solely on how it looks under ideal conditions.

Noooo! White should be outlawed - WHY? Suppose there's no accounting for tastes! lol

Over in US in 4 weeks and can't wait to see the car in white! Over in Europe white is not optional - however Strato Blue has jusy been added for 2005.

I respect the fact that everyone has an opinion but my opinion is yuck! That's still not as bad as the white '94-'95 RX-7's though. What's next, Pearl Mica Baby **** Brown? This will make the yellow ones more valuable later though and that is at least one good side effect.

I saw the White in person at Ibufars place in Cerritos. The paint is definately a
pearlized metalic and not a base white. It does not have any of the cream tone
I have seen in some other pearl whites. IMO it is not a good color for the 8. As others have said before, it does nothing to enhance the cars styling, (in fact it hides it).I also believe Mazda would have been much better off bringing in the Stratos Blue or the Copper color from the 3.

a white RX8 DEFINITELY needs clear corners! the yellow blinkers stand out way too much.

Wow, it seems like there has been a pretty big change in opinion regarding the White. It seemed like so many people were hyped about this color (I certainly wasn't) but it seems that has changed and most people don't like it.

I completely agree about the comment regarding the White 94-95 RX-7's.

My thoughts are this: it looked nice, but basically it looked like a white RX-8. As for me, I'm glad I got Sunlight Silver. The white was a very crisp white, but not metallic or anything special. It would probably be my second or third choice if I were buying right now.
Hey!!! What kind of Photo-chop is this? hu???...

I used to really like the white before getting a Nordic. But even then and especially now after seeing those pictures, it's always looked a little bit like underwear.

and not like good underwear either. Imagine what it looks like slightly dirty. eghhhhh

The color does seem to look good under certain lighting conditions... reference the mazda japan site. Maybe some of the body kit mods might help it out. Now that I think about it, it should have been a mazdaspeed-only or racing-only color

We almost went to the Parade yesterday, but got scared away by the rain. Hope you didn't get soaked, RX22! Seeing the white 8 might have made it worthwhile. Maybe we'll go today... I too had wanted to get white, so I'd be curious to see how it stacks up against my Titanium.

khoney, we got a little wet. Had to stay in one home for about 45 minutes. Pretty good Parade this year. My favorite was the home w/ the pool in the front yard behind the wall. You'll know the one if you go.

BTW, this rain is killin' me! We're building a home and they are doing the framing right now. What a lousy time for rain!!
