Mythical WHITE RX-8 Caught on film......
My wife and I went to the Parade of Homes show here, and guess what was parked in one of the driveways as an exhibit.
My thoughts are this: it looked nice, but basically it looked like a white RX-8. As for me, I'm glad I got Sunlight Silver. The white was a very crisp white, but not metallic or anything special. It would probably be my second or third choice if I were buying right now.

I don't mind white as a car color - my first car was white. But on the RX-8 with so many body lines, I think white is similar to black, the lines are not as easy to see and thus it hides some of the car's best visual features.

White doesn't look bad, but I prefer black way over it. Black hides the gaps between the different body parts perfectly and makes the car look like made out of one single piece. White accents the gaps heavily. Also, I imagined the white to be "pearlier".

I just got in from my local Mazda dealership and saw the one white RX-8 they had on the lot. The metallic paint under the lights looks very nice. This is where you can see the metal flakes in the paint (at night under lights). I think that $200.00 is quite reasonable for the Paint. I think I paid $525.00 in 1996 for the Pearl White on my Millenia S.

Given the circumstances (eyes rolling and audible huffing) it must have been difficult to concentrate :D

But then again, it was a dreary rainy day so that may have had something to do with it. Plus, I really didn't take a lot of time to really look at the paint up close.

Yeah, in those pics it definitely looks like a straight flat white.
But having seen it in person, I can guarantee you that it is a pearl with metallic in it.
But, no matter how you look at it, this color would be my very last choice for this car.

It's surely gonna be popular with the hardcore tuners; an empty canvas just wating to be filled... I just wish they hadn't removed the yellow, but I can understand their heritage. Still, I'd love to see that upcoming Strato Blue from Overseas.... it looks mad cool on the 3's...

Stuck in a love triangle
Are those rims dirty? If not then this isthe only color that Ithink the stock RX8 rims look horrible on. It doesntlook too good from behind either itlooks too clean on the back. I likeit from the side butthe front is awkward for me. Overall titanium is still my favorite followedby silver. I thinkthis pearl whiteis going to be just like black --you have to keep it clean or itwill look like ****. Too lazy to deal w/cleaningall the time.

If I had the $ I'd have bought one of EVERY color of the RX-8 in 2004 & still take the white.
I didn't think there was ANY "bad" color for it.
White was just cool since you couldn't get it here, now that you can, it seems a bit anticlimatic.

I'm happy I bought the silver! It just look so sharp and clean.
Personally I was expecting more from the white on the RX-8, somehow it seem kind of flat one dimensional color.
