My life threatening experience >.>

Well i was starting my car to leave for the morning and for some reason last night i put the car in gear when i got out... well as im sure you have figured out i failed to remember it was in gear when i started it this morning. With only one foot in the car as i was just starting it then going back inside for a minute, the car jolted foward missing my garage door by about 10 inches (its parked outside). But the good news is it didnt flood

ps. I looked around and made sure no one heard/saw me >.>

I always leave it in gear when I park.

and 2 inches would have sounded much more dramatic

Good thing you don't have remote start. I have heard a couple of very funny stories of runaways.
*I never leave mine in gear.

Me neither. Got towed a couple weeks ago.. The tow truck driver put it in gear when he was transporting my car, I had to help lower it off because it was so freaking low he had to place wood blocks all over and replace them so I didn't scrape..

Started her up on the flatbed and stalled instantly.. EMBARASSING MUCH?

"You don't wanna be doing that!!"

That's always fun, I only leave mine in gear if I'm on a hill.

With American vehicles in general I leave it in gear always and never used the parking brake. If an E-brake is there next to the driver seat like our sports car is, then I'll use it and won't leave it in gear. Otherwise, I leave it in gear.

not necessary, you can still start in gear with the clutch pushed in.

That's what I was thinking, if the clutch isn't pushed down the car shouldn't start.
