Got to make my first little road trip this weekend, went from Baton Rouge to Biloxi Ms. I managed 23.8 mpg, running with Traffic, (75-80) , and 24.6 on the way back, running 72 all the way. It's not 40 mpg, but I knew this when I bought it. Very happy with that kind of mileage.

 

Not bad, my best mpg so far is 17mpg lol. But all my driving is done in the city... Going to SA Texas this July, hoping for better mpg then.

The rx8's mileage isn't that bad when driving an entire tank on the freeway. Mid 20's ain't bad for a sports car.

 

I only drive the car around the Las Vegas area and never drove past it. When i bought the car used in 07, i was planning to drive it far like Los Angeles or something, it never happened and whenever we planned for a vacation to go far, we always rent a car for it. That's why, the mileage of my 05 rx8 is less than 32k right now, it's pretty low than a normal driving of 15k a year or less than that. Anyway, not planning to drive it far, just local driven to keep the mileage very low.

 

Love the 8 for road trips. I've owned mine for 3.5 years, bought it with 8,600 miles in Oct 2007, and only do about 7,000 miles a year in-state for commuting and such. So it would be at ~32,000 miles.

But I take it for lots of long distance trips, so it's at 83,000 miles Consistently get 20+mpg, 23-24mpg if I pay attention to it.
