My 8 got egged the other night.
So it gets egged at 3am in the morning in front of my house. I get up and find that the paint is stained and in most areas missing clear coat. So I take it to the body shop and they tell me the the entire car needs to be painted and that the only panel not damaged was the top. The kids who did this must have thought that this was fun and that I would be angered and upset. They must have used like about 30 eggs.
I sure the didn't think that it needed to be painted anyway and that now I will have a new paint job for the cost of my comprehensive deductable.
3500 worth of paint for a 100 bucks! I'm so upset.

幹他媽!
i would try detailing it first before deciding to repaint right away. it may not remove the stain completely, but enough to where it's not noticeable.
also, some pix might help us give u better advice.

paint it hot pink
Also, you might want to invest in a car cover, or a home security system. alot of people have motion sensors connected to security cameras. people even knowing that you have cams like that will probably deter alot of crap.

as one who has gotten egged - I'm sorry
But it seems like you are happy about getting a brand new paint job. So whatever floats your boat.
Personally I think anyone caught doing this should be put in a lot of pain at the hands of the owner. Very serious pain. Its the only way people really learn lessons these days

Did it to mine but it rained soon after so paint was fine. Eggs can do some lethal damage to paint once it dries. Hope you get better paint than the cheap stuff Mazda slapped on.

At least they trashed a major portion of your paint, otherwise if only a couple panels would have been hit, the Ins would have only paid to have those repainted and we all know how that would have looked. What a bummer and congrats on the new look.

i think you should do some investigation as to who did it, because if its over some grudge you might get egged again after you get your new paint job.
good luck and sounds like a great deal on the new paint!

I'm in the same position but with a scratch and insurance will cover.
I have the option of getting it covered up (barely visible) or a new paint job.
Whats the best option??????

A total repaint does sound excessive. My old crappy car was egged and spray painted bad in college by a rival frat and I left the egg/paint baking in the April Georgia sun for a week or two (I knew Insurance was going to cover it) and the body shop was able to get it looking almost the same with just buffing and wet sanding (for $350 total), although my insurance did offer to paint the whole car (I took the money instead). There are a couple of dime-sized spots where the eggs sat for the couple of weeks, but I barely notice them. I did notice the $1500 check I received from my insurance for not paint the car though…
