"is that a mustang?"
"is that a mustang?"
as i pulled up and got out of my car, i was asked by one of the moving guys helping my neighbors move out their house this exact question
it's nice that people are intrigued by the car and many still have no idea what it is. although a friend of mine did ask me, "how come you bought a beetle?" after i sent her pictures of the car online. i wanted to punch her in the face

About three people already called my car a a Mazda 6... atleast they knew it was a Mazda. I still say that the 8 looks very diffrent from most cars. I gues people just say things without thinking.
I was at a gas station the other day and a guy on a motorcycle obviously had never seen one ask, "Wow, that's nice, does she run?" about that time a dodge viper pulled in and stole my thunder.

I've Gotten Viper once and Porche a couple times. Mustang today I almost threw up when he said that though. The problem is are looks semi like a lot of other cars but is very different from everything else on the market at the moment.
Oh well.
Oh well.
Getting out at the Post Office, I hear the old guy on the sidewalk telling his grandson "See the 'T' on the front? That must be the new Toyota Celica."
I say "No, that's an 'M', it's a Mazda, an RX-8"
Granpa gets a little miffed at this and says "No, that's a 'T' for Toyota, it's a Celica!!" :D :D

I am still amazed by how few of the 8s I see on the road. People are constantly looking at mine like they have never seen one before, and I have seen only 2 around town in the last year, which is pretty weird since this is a fairly big area.
I've had Aston Martin and Porsche. If I drove an Aston Martin, would I really be plowing through the snow?
I guess people are trying to associate what they see with a brand they know.

One of my neighbors walked by the other day while I was washing the car, and asked "Is that the new Nissan?" I told him "No, it's a Mazda." He nodded like he understood as he walked away, and I could hear him mutter "Oh, a Miata." I just went back to washing my car....

^...I have noticed, that the general population neither notices, nor cares about cars. Most only drive one becasue they have to. Only a select few of us actual care, and we are the fortunate ones.
