Just take some other gauge and glue the needle around 17mpg. Maybe up it to 18 or 19 in the winter since it always seemed to do a little better when it got a little cold out.

It should a miles per dollar gauge instead that senses the gas pump price upon approaching the pump.

Wow, I can see that happening if Gore become president; any car that doesn't pass his new "Gas Saver Program" payes a heavy fee when you buy the car.

My gas mileage varies greatly depending on what I am doing (long trips vs. fun driving, 22 vs. 11) but, under no circumstances, do I actually want to know what it is while driving. That would take a lot of the fun out of the fun driving.

Just do this. Make a fake gauge with 3 points on it. The first on the top says "Your Still not a Prius.", the second will say "You dont wanna know.", and the third will say "Take out a second morgage on the house now.".

Correct, it is the easiest plug and play you will find. I mounted it with velcro behind the steering wheel just in front of the tach/speedo. You can change the background lighting color so as to not be so bright at night. Hell, you can change the color to match the red dash color if you like.

It plugs into the ODBII plug just above the clutch pedal.

Am thinking of getting one eventually. Not much cheaper on eBay.

I could just borrow the P-Touch at work and make a label that says 10 and stick it somewhere on the dash.

I'm obviously in the minority here since I don't own a RX8, but I'm astonished that it comes with so many standard features, and doesn't come with a trip computer.

I'll have to look for the trip-computer, conspiracy thread that I know is somewhere on this forum.

Cost savings....but with the multi-function display in the dashboard already there, it would have been an easy add, which they should have.
