Mpg???
Unfortunately 98 miles and at half tank doesn't really mean much when we don't know exactly how full the tank was. Anywhere from 90-110 miles to half a tank from a fully topped off tank is normal depending on your driving style

I get exactly 200 miles to a full tank if it is all city. You're spot on for standard city mileage, with a few redline pulls mixed in there.
Part of it is winter gas, part of it is 10-15% ethanol gas, part of it is how and where you drive, most of it is the car itself. 200-250 miles to the tank for city driving is the norm, get used to it.

It's 200-220 a tank but you're not going to empty the entire tank before you fill up. You might have 2 or 3 gallons left on E. I average about 16-20 (city-highway). Seems like that is average to me.

Easy or hard depends on your level of mechanical and electrical knowledge/skill.
For me, I would call it easy.
For someone asking the sort of questions you are here asking, I would call it hard. No offense but if you were technically proficient you wouldn't be here asking us these things...so I can assume the job would be difficult for you.

I get 180 miles with full tank strictly driving in the city, sometimes I hit 80 miles by the time the gauge is at the half-way mark. Like what 'paiman.soror' mentioned: "Anywhere from 90-110 miles to half a tank from a fully topped off tank is normal depending on your driving style." Don't sweat it, I'd be happy to see mine at 98 in the half-way marker. Search the forum for a DIY on your heater **** and post your questions/concerns there.

You can calculate MPG after burning just half a tank if you want.
What is important is that the tank was topped off when you started counting miles, and that you top it off to the same level when you calculate gallons used.
In the pipe five by five.

It doesnt make a rat's *** how much is left in the tank when you fill up. Gas mileage is calculated by the gallons used and the miles you traveled on those gallons. So if you pump 12 gallons and you've gone 200 miles, you've gotten 16mpg. Just like if you pump 6 gallons and you've gone 98 miles, you've still gotten 16mpg in spite of the fact that there's half a tank of fuel left.

if you're looking at the meter, 100 miles to 1/2 tank is actually average for this car. the best I ever did was 290 miles for a full tank (straight highway driving without stopping the car).
when I got the car, it was my only "sigh" about it. you'll get used to it after a while, think about it this way, you got a car that's fun to drive, turns heads, and is very unique. the only things you should make sure you do constantly is to let it drink gas, and top off the engine oil (check oil every 2 fill ups).
welcome to the club and enjoy the car

You kind of are asking for it by coming to a forum with 8 years worth of information and asking n00b questions as if you are entitled to answers, and then questioning the information you're given by those who know what they're talking about, though.

I figured as much, but somebody somewhere in this thread has no clue how to calculate mpg, so I thought I'd better throw it out there for all to see.

Dude trust me here, if you think I am being a dick with my subtle smartass comments, wait until the rest of these guys get ahold of you this evening. They are so mean that I call them dicks because of what they say to other people.
