Rear Cargo bed
Tow Hitch
Front Snow-Plow attachment
Front winch Attachment
Wagon version
Pickup Truck version (Similar to Isuzu brat)
FWD/AWD
12” plus of ground clearance.
Rear lift-gate the swings outward to one side, or down.
Wood Side panels.
Ford F-150 logos
The RX-8 cannot appeal to everyone. If you want station wagon buy a station wagon or a truck. Do not turn the RX-8 into one or expect it to be turned into one. The RX-8 is not the right design for a station wagon. When Station wagons are designed they are designed at the same time, along side its sedan counterpart. If Mazda were to design a Station wagon version of the RX-8 it would look like an afterthought. Most station wagons are patterned after correct 4 door sedans. The RX-8 is different.

Forgive me if I disagree.

So, what you're saying it that Mazda should run all of its plans past you for approval, because you have the One True Vision(TM) of how the RX-8 should be?
Forgive me if I disagree.

Personally, I think they should sell the RX-8 design to a joint Subaru/Nissan ventue to turn the RX-8 into an AWD rally car with a cool altima-like interior.

I think FOCUS (not the Ford) on a fundamentally good idea is extremely important for success (no amount of focus would have made the Aztec a good vehicle IMO). If Mazda have plans and are tooled up for snow-plough attachments and convertible bodies etc I am fine with that, but please don't delay bringing out what 95% of the people here are waiting for whilst testing for pushing 5" of snow etc.
Focus on bringing a good, safe, reliable sports car to market early next year. Spend the following year debugging it as the buying public find issues and need support (as per any brand new car). Get a product out that will elevate Mazda to Honda/Nissan/Toyota (or even Acura/Infiniti/Lexus) levels of success and will keep Ford from meddling with the new platform and engine.
THEN design and build the convertible wagon submersible version if people who have spent real money with Mazda say they would like one (not just a few people on the internet). Personally speaking I would love to have a convertible RX-8 more than the hard-top, but Mazda should in no way delay or risk the success of the car we have all seen and love for another body-style for at least a year.

I can understand that - You'll note I quoted someone else, not you. I didn't feel a need to respond to your post because it was clearly your opinion and you said it very reasonably. Reasonable people can disagree I don't even disagree with the opinion, actually; I'm just annoyed with the way some people have stated that there *can't* and *shouldn't* be a wagon because it doesn't agree with their vision of the car. Whether or not anyone wants an RX-8 wagon, I think it's pretty clear there won't be one - Mazda already has a sport wagon platform, the Mazda6.

Would that be an option for a rotary snow plow :D
FYI - rotary snow plows have been used by railroads (D&RGW in Colorado Rockies) in snowy areas since the late 19th century.
I'm sure that you could get a custom winch bumper made to improve that approach angle :p
