more m flash

Sorry to keep on the m flash but this is the 1st Iv'e heard of it and I pick up my 8 tomorrow, i guess i am a junior. Am I safe to assume the ones coming out of the factory now have it. By the way I of love this site, far more helpful then the dealership. Nobody at the dealership Im at seem to know much about the car so I am afraid to ask them.
Hopefully after I get the car my questions will be less junior like.

yes, after a certain date (forgot the date), the RX8's will have the M flash done to it. it is in the bulletin for the flash itself if you can find it here on the forums.

Your car should have the M flash. I hope your service dept is better at these things. Why don't you drop in over there after you're done with the sales folk. After all, they are the ones who you will be dealing with from then on. If for some reason you don't have the M flash, make an appt, or wait & have it done right then if they can. It's only a 15 minute deal... for free of course.

You know, I spoke with probably 4 - 5 people at the dealership, and all of them seemed pretty damn clueless about the RX-8. You would think that Mazda/the dealerships would be much more knowledgable about a car that is the "crown jewel" so to speak of their lineup.

Even the people at the service department didn't even know what the hell the rotary accents package was. The salesman told me I had to get that AFTER I purchased the car.

Mazda is lucky their engineering staff is a hell of a lot more competent than their sales/service staff, because they can't get out of their own way.

I woudn't accept the car with out the lastest flash. My dealer has refused to fix my oil pan, the AC and flash the ECU. I am getting a meeting with the Mazda service advisor now. You can not trust them to do anything. Mine says he will not flash it without a check engine light.

That sucks...you should find a new dealer to service your car. The service dept at the dealership where I purchased my car has not refused me anything. I got the "M" flash without even having to lie (told the rep about my rough idle, hesitant starts occasionally [5-6 seconds of cranking], bad mileage, and obviously rich exhaust).

I was re flashed at my first oil change. Ide has smoothed out a bit and the lag at 7k has been reduced slightly. The exhaust no longer smells way too rich.
