2. If there is no other possibility than to park between other cars (without another nice looking car around), try to find a minivan or a small vehicle. Minivans have sliding doors on the sides and small vehicles have front doors that are shorter than most. Of course, you have to worry about the kids bumping your car as they shuffle to get in their minivan, but hey...you can't always win.
Some woman in a minivan or SUV (don't remember) parked next to me at a restaurant. I was sitting where I could see the car. Back door opens, kids pour out, jumping down with their hands out to brace themselves on my car. This was maybe the first week I had it? I beeped the alarm at them.

Am I the only one who packs a velvet rope and set of stand-offs in the trunk?

Beeping the horn is a great idea, if you have line-of-sight to the car. I'm amazed the range of my 8's remote- easily 100 ft. My wife's Subaru remote only works within about 30 feet.

Let no RX-8 ever be seen in a Walmart parking lot. Amen.

Well, when I bought my car last month it had one little ding on the left rear fender. Last week it picked up two more...on the ROAD! Within a 15 minute span on the highway passing cars kicked up stones at my car. I heard them hit hard and clang quite loudly. The dings are within inches of each other on the left rear door. Took awhile before I spotted the upper ding, which unfortunately appears to have some paint damage too. I thought I was going to go to Dent Wizard to get that one dimple taken out, but now I have three, and one that I guess they won't do because of the paint being messed up. Guess that means body shop?

So much for parking away from people. The car can't be driven either. The car I had and loved two cars ago also seemed to be a magnet for stones on the road.

Anyone know the best Dent Wizard to go to in the Tysons Corner/Vienna area? I'm thinking Honda Tysons Corner. Seeing as how my other options are Mercedes and Maserati dealers; can't imagine their prices are too great. Then again, I should probably drive somewhere more remote to get a better deal, since the prices are sky high on everything here thanks to all the rich folk.

I always park in a spot with a curb being to my left and right.. and hug that as much as possible. dingless to this day, with the exception of highway stones/rocks being tossed at me while going down the road).

Too bad, there's not much one can do except park very far away at a vacant area (if it's not a busy day.) or, write something on their car with your keys.
That's why I have the Buick.

It's the best American car made. Saturns are getting up there. We are not talking trucks.

Anyhow, I don't park in high volume lots when I do drive the 8.

Just not worth the heart break.

Did you know legally that parents aren't responsible for their kids? Isn't that wierd? took some parent to small claims for about $1200 worth of dmg her kid caused... she even said she would pay for it.... courts decision was the parent was not legally responsible for what the kid did!! WTF

needless to say i've been constructing pipe bombs in my basement for the past few months because of the brain dead ruling.

That really blows!!!!!! in my case I was able pretty much able to put a stop to my neighbors kids playing around my car. The little ***** that put the first dent on my car and usually initiates playing with a soccer ball in front of my house recently turned 17.

To make a long story short I gave him a pretty sweet belated birthday present. He walked up to me on my lawn to mouth off to me I unwrapped a two handed choke slam. Then rested my knee on his chest (while continuing to choke) and explained why it’s not a good idea to pick a fight if you weigh 80 pounds less then someone.

Been soccer free for a few week now

Don't get me wrong I do no enjoy violence but am a firm believer in the expression " Don't let you mouth write a check that your *** can't cash"
