mods for my new 05 tigray rx8 GT
so im a senior in high school, im on a tight budget right now, but i will have plenty of $$$ in like 2 months
im getting a 05 tigray rx8 GT sometime this week, im looking for some somewhat uncostly, easy mods to do for rigth now
im not a big racer, plus the previous owner already put a bunch of performance mods in, i want to do mainly some nice appearance mods that will make it look really tight
make some suggestions plz of some good appearance mods to do
also, i want to smoke all my lights, i dont really want to use niteshades cuz its permanent, anyone kno how good vinyl overlay works, any links to get them??

I will layout the wheel manufacturers that should be purchased for the 8.
Teir 3:
5Zigen
Enkei
Buddy Club
O.Z.
Tenzo
Tier 2:
Axis - Shine
JIC J-Force
Gram Lights 57D
Enkei - RP/RS Series
G- Games
Tier 1 -
Advan
BBS
Volk Racing
Work Emotion
INGS
SSR
Also 1-1.5" drop and some tint on the windows would set it off.
If you want to spend even more go with MazdaSpeed body kit or AutoExe.
Do not buy cheapy sub $200 rims, they look horrible and are worse for perf compared to the stockers.
My suggestion save your money for maintance and vehicle ownership cost.
Since you are in HS i suppose this is your first vehicle. Best mod you could do for yourself is a advanced driving lesson.

#1 vehicle maintenence is paramount with these cars. it isn't a huge $$ difference between rotaries and other engines but it is more $$. just be aware. the great thing is if you maintain your rotary it will outlast other engines and can't blow head gaskets, never needs valve work, and these are primarily maintenece free ( as in internal engine work) engines. just make sure you have good plugs wires and coils and change your oil and check your dipstik every 2 fillups as these cars burn oil.(they are supposed to)
#2 do not take offense to the suggestion that you need a performance driving course because you are young, these are sports cars, although not as fast in a straight line as a mustang GT you will absolutely KILL one in a corner, but there are limits to any vehicle and the biggest limiting factor is driver training. this car will surprise you how well it can handle right from the factory but the wrong input from the driver and you will lose control faster than someone with a mustang GT. this is a fantastic, fun way to learn the limits of yourself and the limits of your vehicle. and most of the time you get to trash on someone elses car for a whole day and it's only usually around $250-$300 and you can get discounts on your insurance. another huge benefit when your in HS cuz insurance can be rediculous.
good luck and be safe.
Airbags can only do so much, wear your seatbelt ALL the time. you don't want me to tell you what i saw at work last night that a seatbelt would have prevented. trust me. and speed was not a factor. seatbelts also prevent you from bouncing around before a large impact and can keep you where you need to be to control the vehicle and possibly prevent an impact. as a force of habit i put my seatbelt on in the garage when i'm just moving an ambulance around. people laugh at me becuase i'm not even going over 4mph and then getting out but i will not put a vehicle in gear without wearing one.
that being said, rims, a drop and LED's look hot as the factory parking lights are quite dull and clear corners or smoked corners. i personaly prefer the RotaryFX clears on a TI grey but thats personal prefference.
exhaust, always a headturner, rotaries sound completely different than any other vehicle on the road and with a sport exhaust they snap heads around. i love my Borla. others say the HKS hi power. a single muffle but it looks sweet and saves weight if your into that typw of thing. plus the single exit changes the way the sound comes out of the engine and they say it is sweet and unique.

You've got your tiers reversed Adam (the opposite of "stages" in performance).
Tier One is Advan, BBS, etc.
OP, If in high school and therefore limited budget lean more towards the low cost/free mod's.
Remove the VFAD (free) and drop in a K&N air filter ($50).
Install the AFE Short Shifter.
Toyo T1R tires on stock rims if you need new sneakers. The stock rims don't get enough credit and perhaps all you need is a good buff with a Mother's Powerball and their wheel polish.

+1 on the driving lessons....Not because your in high school or because your young but because unless youve raced is say e stock or something before then chances are your not going to be able to drive the car near its potential...a driving lesson will only help you better understand the car and make it faster for you
