Minor detail questions

I'm considering getting a RX-8 but I have some minor questions about RX-8.

Question 1:
Base on the pictures I have seen so far, the Rim seems to have that "blade" looking. Does it look like that to you too? Anyone has the rim picture for both side of the car?

Question 2:
Base on these two pictures, the red one has support beam for the hood, but the silver one does not. Any one know if Mazda going to use gas lift or normal support beam for hood?

Thank You.

Con asked about the rod that holds the hood up (or hydraulic struts) not strut bar. Or am I missing a post somewhere?

Yeah, I'm wondering what's holding the silver car's hood up. On the red car, I can see there's a bar holding the hood, but not on the silver.

if i was a betting man (which i'm not), i'd say just the regular cheapo plane-jane coathanger...
why?? 'cause it's cheap, light, and almost impossible to break... and if it does, it's super cheap to fix.

in the silver pic(which i think is from the Vegas bunch) i would bet soemone is holding the hood up. there is also some speculation that the hood prop might be attached to the hood it self instead of in the engine compartment, which would explain why it isn't seen in that silver pic at all.

The red car has the same clip on the left side too. So either it's for something else, or perhaps they're interchangeable?

I have never seen the gas shocks on the hood of any of the 8's i've opened up.

Here's a high res of one in Detroit... and you can see there is nothing but hinges back there.

The trunk, on the other hand, does have gas shocks.

The silver one, pictured above, probably had the pole removed to the photograph, or was croped out of the pic.
