Currently, you can get a factory MD setup in the Miata, but you can't quite get it straight from the dealer. You have to order the player separately (at some cost too, as I understand it), and then you can replace the tape player.

It's a similar situation with the MR2 Spyder.

I hope we can get on directly, instead of having to get it from overseas.

EDIT: Speaking of recent Mazda option offerings, you can get an MD player with an internal 6 CD changer, as seen here.

Yep, I really like having all the song names scroll across instead of getting track 1, 2 etc. And the playlists work for all MD players so no more proprietary lists that need to be copied into other formats for other programs. Subdivision by grouping is another cool feature.

It's like everyone in the US is in the stone age of electronics or something. :p

Yeah, I've had an MD player at home for like 8 years, but Sony are just holding too tight and they've all but killed it.

Yeah, I've got an MD player in my car now, but it all but died about six months ago. I'd like to fis it but it's about 8 years old, and I won't be moving it into the RX-8 when I get it, so I've been suffering through CD's and FM. But I'd definitely be interested in a AM/FM/MD/CD changer set up.
