A mileage thread to make you smile.

Unfortunately, this is not an economical engine. One handy screen on the LCD shows fuel economy, instantaneously and over time. The only times we could keep the mileage consistently over 20mpg was by going downhill. Even in sixth gear on the freeway we couldn't keep it over 20mpg. The EPA rating for the manual-transmission G35 is 19mpg city and 27mpg on the highway, but our overall observed economy was 16.4mpg.

Did you try using the cruse control. That seems to be the secret for good highway mileage.

I take it that the above MPG stats are for a G35 and not an RX 8?

Power takes gas. It doesn't matter what motor you have.

If those numbers are for a G35 (which I assume they are) and not an rx-8, then there is something wrong. I am regularly getting 25-30 mpg in my 350z on the highway.

Yes, it's about the 2007 G35, from CNET review. I just hate people constantly complaining. It's nice to see someone else get 16.4 mpg.
