You get two tow hooks when you bought the car. They're located in the trunk.

I don't get it. I look & I've got the threaded nut welded in there on either side on the front and the one in the back. Anything else would what? - need to replace that hardware? Go behind that hardware so there's two nuts welded back to back? I looked for a pic of the MS bracket but can't find one, even the the MS accessories catalog, even in the Japanese version.

And the MS hooks look to me like just fancy what I've already got in the trunk. If the mounting hardware is really so strong and needed, why bother to get the fancy hook? Why not just use the cheap hook with the new bracket?

The MS bracket is required for the Mazdaspeed bumper. The bumper covers up the mounts that the stock bumper uses for the tie down hooks. The MS is stronger than the tie down hooks.

I believe it is required on most tracks.

ahh now I get it, it's only needed by those with the fancy MS bumper. Makes much more sense. So we already got what we need anyway. Heck I've been using the cheap one (without needed it....thankfully) for 4 yr already lol.
