You know, I was just purusing the MazdaUSA website, and had a thought. They already did the Protoge, Miata, 6, and now the 3. Aside from the Mazda2 coming out, I would think unless they come out with another car, or decide to make a Mazdaspeed 5 or CX, the Mazdaspeed 8 should get a chance to be released. Chances are I bet they will make a Mazdaspeed2 before an 8. Anyway, random thought I had and felt I'd share it.

They will not make Mazdaspeed 8 for the US

IT does not worth the time/cost.

They sorta came up with a mock-up mazdaspeed 8. I want to say it was supercharged, might have been turboed... there are a few pics floating around, it's a red 8 transformed and painted white.

But the problem is when you start turbo charging the renesis (at least the 04-08) years, sometimes the engine life is shortened even more. Just too impractical.

 

Can't sell it.. even if you double RX8 sales with an MSP version.. that's only an extra ~3000 cars/year. Whoopdie doo. And there is no way you're going to double sales.. maybe a 10% increase, so 300 cars? Nahh. I'm thinking the 2 will be the next MSP platform, the market is hot for that car.

 

just buy the MS parts and make your own MSP
