Mazdaspeed Rx-8
Thanks guys...glad I could get a rise out of you. I realize there is no MS RX-8, but figured a dedicated RX-8 Board would be the place to ask. I thought about replacing my old mercedes sedan for a Shinka, but had to replace my wife's car first which meant me having to wait...so if there's an anticipated new model date...maybe worth waiting for. But guessing from your tone, there is none.

Well typically, Mazdaspeed versions get more power, better handling, and exterior upgrades. The last two you can get now. I imagine Mazda is having as much trouble extracting more power as anyone else. We'll see a Mazdaspeed 3 before the 8. And probably a MS Mx-5 before the 8 as well.
Racing Beat built the only USDM Mazdaspeed RX8 prototype, but I heard it went to the smasher
The JDM versions were both normally aspirated. It seems that won't fly in the USDM - we all want FI it seems, so the prototype that Racing Beat built was a study for MNAO, and then they killed it.

I heard that the Shinka II is supposed come out as an option for a 06 model. It was in one of the threads here and its supposed to be out in Japan already. Any truth to this?
shinka II?
I read somewhere, dunno where that this might be a possibility in the US.

Snizzle, Good point. But I would expect the factory blown car to be prety conservative considering the FD's shortcomings. The mod bug will bite and bite hard. Might as well spend that extra money on good aftermarket options and spend the time waiting for the MS8 on good tuning. If only mazda would say something, timeline, s/c or turbo, anything!
