Hi all. I'm still searching for a new front bumper cover and air dam for my 8 which I bashed into a curb. I'm not having a lot of luck and it seems like it's going to end up costing nearly $1k if I get it all new.

So, I'm thinking about just biting the bullet and buying the MazdaSpeed one. I have two questions:

If I just get the MazdaSpeed front and not the back or any other accessories does it match up pretty well? Do the lines of the car still match and look good?

And:

If I buy it from somewhere like Rosenthal and install it myself will I get any hassle about warranty coverage the next time I do something stupid and have to take the car in?

Actually, make it three:

Does the MazdaSpeed bumper come with *everything* I need for the front or do I have to reuse some parts from the existing bumper?

No it's going to look extremely ugly.

Well, I will say if you're going to get the front, get the side as well. so it wont be that "obvious"

No they cant void your warranty for bumper.

and You have to reuse some parts from the existing bumper. For example some of the mount and rubber compoments.

 

The MS front bumper comes with everything you need except for the following:

Mazda logo; must be ordered separately if you want it. Drill marks are on back side of bumper.

Fog light brackets; if your RX-8 has fog lamps.

Comes painted. If you have the Shinka model get the unpainted one then have it finshed in matching Black Cherry Mica.

If the Mazda dealer installs your MS bumper you get the cars' full warranty.

It does look best with the full kit. I did that with my RX-8 including the wing. Looks great. Works too.

Once installed you must use caution around road debris, dips and steep inclines.

Another tip: ask your local dealer if they will match on-line dealers prices. My dealer did and I avoided the shipping cost. Good luck!

 

If you install the MS bumper yourself or a tuner shop the warranty is 1 yr./ 12,000 mi.
