My experience with the mazdaspeed exhaust is that it's throatier than stock while not excessive loud. It complements well with the racing beat mid pipe.

Racing beat is also reliable, albeit its heavier than stock. And our cars need all the weight saving it needs since it cant get much hp lol
How much lighter was the MS Exhaust vs say RBs Racing exhaust (not the REV8)

race exhaust has to be lighter, it is one of the lightest. the race exhaust is the single side that dumps underneath the car

Oh snap, sorry I just saw Racing Beat, didn't see the race part . Yeah the race part should be a lot lighter, my HKS is very, very light.

Well I didn't want to spit RB's numbers but they claim 34% lighter over the stock system, but I don't know how true that is or how much it applies to vs the MS version.

I was just curious really. I like the design and I like the sound and I do autocross so the RB Racing is perfect for me.

did they ever cut you a deal? i want this exhaust! but $2547 is not the best price. Although Japanparts have 17% off right now so you're looking at around $2000 and then shipping for $1000 so you're looking at around $3000 for an exhaust.

Id love it though.

Jesus, $3,000.00 just for an exhaust? I wonder if you could fly to japan, buy it, and then bring it back with you cheaper?

Well, sort of If i go japan i can pick one up for much less than msrp ;-p

Shipping it back will be a problem tho. Cuz i dont think it fits my luggage ...plus the radiation ...

RB for me, but again ear of the beholder.
Nee dto clear this up.

The problem only applies to the dual canister version. Which is a us only version.

The single cnaister version aka mazdaspeed japan version never had any issues. But that one wil! Give u a very deep sound and thats about it. As for weight savings. Doubt there is any.

Sounds like RB gets lots of props here, which I respect. I'm a little concerned about warranty though and decided to go with the MS instead.

With respect to the MS exhausts, it's important to note that there are two totally different systems available. One is a single muffler system, which apparently doesn't sound very different from stock. Some people buy this and are disappointed with the sounds (check out YouTube clips on this). The other is a dual canister system which is very aggressive sounding. I just test drove an R3 with the MS intake and MS dual canister exhaust system yesterday and it sounds very race-like. It has an aggressive sound without that cheap fart-can sound.

Based on that, I just ordered the MS dual canister exhaust. Unfortunately, they're very hard to find and cost me $1200 here in Canada.

Based on other threads that I've read here, there appears to be a more than 20lb difference between the MS and RB system. MS is 26 lbs and RB is 47 lbs. I'm going from memory here so both numbers may be off by 1 or 2 lbs.
