Mazdaspeed 09 Turbo Rx8

An Official MS Turbo Kit Would be Nice...
Don't think I've seen this posted http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/4...a-RX-8-SP.html but I guess Mazdaspeed has turboed, or is sponsoring a turboed 09 8.
Question, if they're comfortable with this, why do you think Mazdaspeed USA hasn't made a legal and warranty safe kit?

Those are just modifications for racing, not a production car. Mazdaspeed is Mazda's motorsports division, they are heavily involved in racing, producing accessories and custom Mazdas is just a sideline. There are lots of turbo 8s being raced out there.

And the correct term is, require more maintenance, not "not reliable enough".

I know what Mazdaspeed is but thanks. As I read that article, and saw the connection between Mazdaspeed and a turbo rx8, I was wondering why Mazdaspeed couldn't make their own turbo kit for either generation 8.
Doesn't TRD have a turbo kit for the Scion Tc? That is what I'm talkin about,...

The Turbo was installed in Australia

I don't know how they can warranty the motor with a turbo kit even if it is a mazdaspeed kit(if they were to offer one) because if you get a shitty tune then your motor is done....so it wouldn't have a problem with the turbo it's the tune.....no maybe if it had to be done at a "mazdaspeed" shop or something where every 8 that get it installed and tuned there gets the same tune then maybe

TRD does make a supercharger and for a while it seemed Honda didn't mind Comptech blowers on the s2k and would continue to warranty the cars. Some honda dealerships even sold the SC's...
I can't see any manufacturer selling an aftermarket turbo while continuing to hold the car under warranty. If this is what you meant, I agree lol

Yeah, bad thread title, oh well.
And Marklar, tone can't really be understood over the internet. Why'd you think I was offended, maybe you thought I was being pompous, or was it my terse 'thanks'...Naw, that's just how I talk and what I had on my mind after reading your explanation and the following talk about track days. Lol, I know you weren't talkin down to me, I gave you a sincere thanks for trying dude.
I merely wanted to get the topic back to Mazdaspeed making their own FI for 8s.
But yeah, I guess the issue really is motor warranty. Mazda would have to offer a Turbo/Motor warranty package, most likely at too high a price, and would have no way to know if the car had pre-existing problems that could lead to failure.
Mazda probably also knows that if they got Mazdaspeed in the turbo 8 game, people would probably try to upgrade, then mess up, put up stock parts, try to get new motor etc...would be too much of a hassle for them.
I would bet the head guys are all aware of our community force feeding these cars and are fine leaving it up to us.

Huge hole is huge
Am I the only one who knew they wouldn't release a turbo for the RX-8 out of the factory? I figured this thread would just be someone asking if they will ever make one/an article that confused him a bit.
