i checked with the parts dept. they do not know how to order the japanese ones, perhaps if someone in japan can translate and get a part number i can try to order one.

Uh, I don't know whether someone has mentioned this before but you can get some rx-8 merchandise on E-bay. I bought one similar (identical) to this:

a couple of months ago. I like it because it has the suicide doors open in the back image.

 

yeah i bought 2 of those. one for my wife and one for me. went to rev-it up with it on. also saw about half dozen or so people wearing them.
