I think the 8 looks fine without the appearance package, but to say that the contour and body line are completely ruined by adding it...........I don't know what to say other than I don't see it that way.

One thing I have to say though is the black with chapparal is classy as hell... just my 2 cents.

I just can't seem to decide. I am buying an 8 in a couple of weeks, but I still can't decide. I think the Red looks best w/ the appearance package and the black looks best with out it. I guess I'll have to see them side by side in order to decide.

Lightning Yellow! Great yellow, never lose it in a parking lot, should be safer if everyone can see you (didn't stop the guy from rear-ending my 99 Chrome Yellow Mustang GT Convertable,maybe just made it a better target!).

I thought the same thing as you...that I needed to see them side by side to make a decision. So I went to the dealer just to see the colors again, particularly the Red and Silver.
Guess what? I left even more confused than before!

Insanely Yellow
Don't get Lightning Yellow - because I like being totally unique!
And regarding the appearance package - I got it and love it - makes the front end look "completed" and the rear wheel fairings are nice as well. Not a big fan of the wing's design, but at least it's not gigantic like that on the EVO or the WRX.
Also, I have the "rotary accent package" - that's nice too - adds a nice accent to the car.

I have alway said that sports cars look best in RED
So ... mine is RED
I like the 8 in Blue also!
I've seen pictures of the RX-8 in White.
It appears to flat, all the sexy details and curves are not there.

Well since everyone is sharing. I ordered silver then changed to blue. I would have to say that after looking at the cars, the darker tones show the lines better IMO. I like silver cars but between silver and titanium, I would now go Titanium. My personal ranking top 3 is Blue, Titanium, Red. I spoke with a guy about a month ago at Best Buy who bought a black RX8 and was happy with all but the color -" too hot for Florida" he said. After 2 friends with black cars here saying the same thing, I would agree on that one for hot climates.
