M Flash

I just go back from the dealership because i got my flash upgraded to the "M" version and i really didnt feel to much more throttle however the biggest thing i can see or feel is the shifting and starting is soooooo smooth compared to what it was. I do have one question, i did a search and found out how to find out if you have an m flash but my oil needle wont sweep. i know i have it but i guess i am doing it wrong can someone run through the steps detail by detail?

Not much detail to it...

Turn car off.
Turn key to "on" position, but don't start.
Pump brake pedal like hell.

You've got to get 20 pumps in a short amount of time... I forget exactly how long you have, though I'm sure someone will chime in with it. It's not too hard, I got it to work my first try.

Its also worth noting.. that the 'sweep' actually indicates you have the "L" flash and/or "M" flash and not just the "M" flash... as I noted someone eslewhere found out thinking they had already had the "M" flash because the 'sweep' worked.... when in fact they hadn't.

Actually, if you look under your hood on your battery cover, or on the the hood itself near the latch, there should be a code that will tell you if you've had the update. If your car was made in March or after, it's already been updated per demand by Mazda headquarters. If you don't have the update, your dealer is required to install it free.

Last Friday I went to the dealer for a tire problem - whining and thumping sound, and right away the tech grabbed a portable computer and hooked it up under my steering wheel and was running some sort of program - it had several bars that continued completing like a software installation on a pc. I asked what it was and he said an M flash verification. It was already done in May but he checked it for some reason.

Check out the TSB listed in the Tech Section. It states that the dealer should place some decals at locations under the hood and other palces stating it was done.
