Looking into buying a RX-8

Hey guys,
I am looking into buy a rx-8 that my friend is selling.
But I got hell a lotta questions to ask you guys before i purchase it!

here it goes...
First off, its 04 rx-8 GT he said, full option just no navigation system.
about 8000 miles.
I will add pics at the bottom
Its got veilside bodykit and Carbon fiber hood.
It looks nice... but the thing is

one of his headlight is out! and fender needs to be fixed,
I am not sure how bad the impact was. he got hit from side.
not sure if bodykit needs to be replaced.
yea I know its better, if i go look at the car but the car is about 4 hours away.

how much does it cost to get a headlight and fender?
Where can I get them cheap?

damn this thing takes... premium gas...
my gas money....

Well, right now i have 92 nissan 240sx convertible in a perfect condition.
probably going to sell it. if i get this.
it was my project car for silvia. but... my friend is giving it to me for real cheap.
I can not pass on that.

here are some pics of rx-8

once again,

how much does it cost to get a headlight and fender?
Is headlight xeon? or regular?
Where can I get them cheap?

and I am aware of there were recalls on it.
what are they?

I need you guys help on this!
thanks fellas,

-K

Gas mpg is low because it is a rotary engine. It also like to drink oil so always check it!

Expect lower gas mileage than 18/24.

Try calling the closest Mazda dealership and ask them how much parts are.

The only problem I have while driving is that I don't want to stop driving. Could use some FI though.

Just wondering...

hey good question.
He is in other country, serving in army!! lol

He didnt know he was going to army for 2 years until he got to Korea.
If he knew, he coulda sold it!
that's why i can't ask him to get a estimate for how much to repair. lol

It just sits at his aunt's house i believe!

Your job is to go look at the car and take notes as to WHAT is wrong with it,. Call your local Mazda Dealer and they can get you pricing on parts.
You don't know the extent of the body damage and you never will without looking at the car. If you can see the car you can take it to a bodyshop and get an estimate. If the headlight is just a bulb, that is a lot less that if it needs the whole headlight unit. Complete XENON housing without bulbs is around $550.00.
Recalls will be handled by the dealer, so if you buy this car just take it in and have them done. I am assumeing this car still has warranty?
Bottom line is GO SEE THE CAR. Much easier to evaluate the vehicle in person.

Thanks, Easy_E1.

I am planning on going down next weekend.
I will try to find a mazda dealership there.
at least i will take pictures to find out!

I think it still does have warranty. what's factory warranty?
that came with 04 rx-8 gt? year/miles?

thank you'll for looking out.
I am freaking excited to see the car. lol
