I'm trying to collect a checklist of things to check for in a used RX8 model. Can you guys help me put one together? I know all the information is in bits and places all over this forum but I can't find a thread that does a good job of summarizing everything.

What things should be on this list, and what years does each item affect? I don't need a laundry list of items, I just need the biggest must-ask things when I go to the dealership.

So far, I can come up with two big items:
- new spark plug / battery to reduce risk of flooding flooding ('04 only?)
- the recall/engine vacuum test from earlier this year on 04-06(4206F on the maintenance history)

And of course, I have my heart set on buying this car. It's simply amazing

 

Look for the samething you would in any used car.

Brakes, clutch, paint, glass, body conditions. Interior conditions, tires what the Hell all the usual stuff.
