Meh, I've always parked in neutral with the hand brake on with every MT car I've ever owned. If on a hill I'll put it in 1st or reverse, but still use the hand brake.

I've never had a problem with the hand brake because I use it when I park. There's a reason that it's also known as the parking brake...that's what it's for.

 

^..........Agree totally Marklar..............and Ryoma-kun, I've only had problems with the hand/parking brake on a car when it hasn't been used in years!

 

unless im on a hill i dont put the car in gear, i just use the parking brake.

 

If you keep pulling your handbrake as hard as you can, it'll eventually loosen up. But it's no big deal fixing it but whenever I'm on flat ground, I try to avoid using hand brake when it's not necessary.

 

i need to get hand brake tightened i tried to park it on a hill with just the brake and it started to roll back so now i use both the brake and first gear

 

It very well could have been, but I assume that if they're selling a "5 Speed Automatic V6 FWD RX8" they probably can't figure out how to put the car in reverse.

 

It's adjustable ya know!
