Lightning yellow 6 MT 2004

Got it a month ago, have added an Optima Yellow Top, Katzkin custom two-tone interior (yellow and black), Yellow DPS coil overs, Falken ZIEX summer tires. Have ordered a F1 stage 3 clutch and lightened fly wheel kit, new sound system (pulling the stereo and blutooth bridging my Samsung Galaxy Tab to the 5 channel amp in the trunk...Pandora and iheartradio will be my radio), 6.8" MTX speakers in front and back, and 2 10" MTX subwoofers in a Zenclosure custom fit box in the trunk with the amp rack (and rotary plexiglas bezel). Will be buying a new transmission soon since that's cheaper than rebuilding the current one. Am planning on a two pass radiator (blackworks?) new radiator hosing, upgraded starter from Mazmart and rebuilding my engine with PnP and Remedy water pump (or buying a Mazmart reman). Should be set after that, though the need for more power might make a Greddy turbo a near term buy as well.

So quick question for the experts, i am thinking about buying a "short engine" from metromotorparts, what all does that entail? What else will I need to buy to make a new engine? I had wanted to get the parts for a whole complete new engie and ship it to one of the premier RX-8 builders for PnP and upgrade, but am I better off just getting one f their remans? Thanks in advance.

a shortblock is a bare engine. no oil pan, no intake or exhaust manifold, no water pump housing etc.

But does include the rotors? Sounds like a good deal at $1300 then. I might be able to cobble a pretty decent new engine together at a reasonable price then. Thanks for the info.

yes, it includes rotors. Take all the accessories off your motor without opening the motor and you have a shortblock (Keg)
