That's why I said to just drive around without a plate. You're gonna get fined for it anyway.

Well by that time, we'll probably have a traffic tracking system that logs where cars are at any given time. Wouldn't be hard at all with RFID.

a drop down cover wouldnt be so hard to make with the rear. the front is a bit of a problem though.

the cover that changes from clear to solid with an electrical switch WORKS. obviously. it is also HIGHLY ILLEGAL.

just dont run redlights.. you're playing with your life and the lives of others. and honestly, toll booths? you use the roads. you pay for the roads. nothing in life is free. good roads are expensive and we all love good roads.

There's no way around it, and if you get pulled over with one... the cop will -not- be nice to you.
Actually, the revolving plate worked fine :D

i doubt it, way too "big brother" imagine that someone would know where u are at all times by knowing where the RFID chip was activated

idk just my two cents

nycgs for letting me know I can dispute the tickets via the website.
The covers that are supposed to beat the cameras don't work. Especially the ones with the glaze for the flash. 99% of camera systems have dual flash and IR imaging, where you may see the flash, but it is also taking IR pictures, and those see right through those glazes.

Then you could do the other suggestions of a mechanism to actually hide your plate, but then again, keep in mind he truck driver in NJ (uses EZPass) that didn't want to pay the tolls, so rigged his license plate to flip back as he went through tolls. He was caught after 8-10 such drive throughs and faced jail time.

Or you could do what is the smartest of them all, considering you have EZPass transponder already, and let your plate get photo captured so you can prove that you did indeed go through, so instead of them being on the lookout for an unknown RX-8, they can lookup your plate and see you have a transponder and you have an EASY case to beat it, probably without doing anything more than clicking "dispute charge"

These tricks suggested are all inviting more trouble, and will do nothing to reduce extremely unlikely chance of having an issue that is easily disputed anyway.

I have been using EZPass from Boston to northern VA since early 2002, and never once had an issue.

The Fresnel covers do work most of the time, but it is dependent on the type of camera mount.

In AZ, the ticket (after you are done with the fees and the process server) is more than simply having no plate at all.
So, I recommend mounting the plate backwards (printed side toward the car).
That way, you are technically in compliance with the law.

A swinging license plate bracket.
Once your car's going 10mph or so, your front plate swings up and out of the way of your radiator...This thing's pretty cool, IMO, and could probably be positioned so the plate swings down and out of the camera's view. Mount it upside down and your plate will aim at the ground once you're driving, but when you're stopped, it looks normal and legal.

Well, the plate is clearly displayed!
You might convince the cop to let you go. You cant do that to a camera.
50/50 shot at a cheaper ticket!
