Leaves in the trunk!?!
anyone else pop the trunk to find leaves from trees that have made their way into the trunk?
not sure how they get there - but i'm pretty sure they fall in there - versus being blown in by wind when i have the trunk opened ...

I try not to ever park under tree, damn birds just love our cars. But when I have to I sometimes find they fall into the cracks between the trunk and the body. I try to make sure I clean that area when washing the car.

I get pine needles all over my car lately(and I park far from the pines, the sap is a paint killer) and they get into every little crevice and don't blow off. By the time I drive my 15 miles to work, half of the pine needles were still on the car. Yes, a few have secretly migrated into the trunk to try to spend the winter. I usually find little white spiders in my cars this time of year & havent so far in the 8; maybe the leather smell repulses them?

Could be that you were rolling around with your trunk lid open for a while. I've had that happen twice. I hit the button on the key fob and not know that I did it, and I don't discover it for days until I try to lock the car and notice that the lights don't flash . . . or it could be that the leaves stole your keys. That happens to me too. (Probably happen less if I drank less, but that's a whole other story.)

Depends on what kind of tree and size of the leaves. I think they got lodged around the seem of the trunk lid area just close to the seals and when you opened the lid they jumped in the trunk for a ride in your RX. Either park away from trees or keep getting leaves in your trunk when you open it.

The other day I was a dope and left my sunroof open while parked in the driveway - I have a large maple in my front yard and it was windy. I returned an hour later, and let's just say that there were so many leaves in the car, that I literally had to get out my leaf blower. Was quite funny actually ...

I'd like to do that to some of our trade-in cars.

The only problem I have with my trunk is that it leaks water sometimes. Like when I go to get it washed, when I get home dried water will have run down under the taillights, etc. I have no clue what is making this problem, but it is annoying!!!

Doug:
That's just water getting up under the edge of the tail lights (and under the mirrors, and the trim, etc.) and staying there due to surface tension. Then as you drive, the vibration and wind causes it to leak back out - unless you're saying it leaks INTO your trunk ... if it's exterior, it's normal and just annoying. Clean up the residue with a damp towel or with a dry cloth and spray detailer.

Carpe Diem: That's MY tattoo, too. Found it on the web somewhere. Wanted a ying yang, but not the same old black & white one. Took it to my ink artist & he copied it. On my left shoulder (so it shows when Im driving the 8). Scary that someone else thinks like me.
