Leased RX8 with mods?

Does anyone have a leased rx-8 with any modifications done to it. I am interested in adding a Revi intake, but i still have more than a year on my lease (i might buy out the car). Will adding an intake always void the warranty? Do you think i can add the revi and still be able to get any repairs done. Any other mods that can be safely dont to a leased rx8? I dont want to keep taking the intake on and off every time i might have to go to the dealer.

I have a leased RX8 and have the Greddy SP2 catback, chrome gas lid, and will soon have the REVI, and a set of wheels. Number one, they are all removeable, both in case I decide not to buy the car out, and to protect my monetary investment should I decide to sell everything.

No, you are not supposed to mod a lease, but if you buy it out in the end it doesnt matter. You can still get things repaired under warrenty, as long as the modified part isnt the cause of the problem in the first place. And under normal circumstances, the service department doesnt know wether or not you are buying or leasing, so they wont ask questions.

Have fun.
Oh yea, and try the search button, this has been discussed a few times, and you might find some more useful information in those threads concerning leased 8's and mods.

I'm leased as well. And have mods. I called my leasing company and they said they don't really care what we do to it as long as we can make it back to stock, at our own cost, when we turn it in. And if you plan on buying it, like I am, then you don't have to change back anything. Basically I have the stock exhaust sitting in my attick in the case that I ever need to put it back on. Everything else will take me maybe a half-day to get it back to stock. But I'm buying it anyways...so now I need to get the REVi....lol!

Great. Im going to go ahead and start modding... Finally! If Kel has no warranty problems with all her mods, i think i'll be fine with an intake. :D

Does anyone have a cz ecu on their leased 8. I've been rethinking getting the intake because it just doesnt seem to be putting up nearly enough power. Would the ecu void my warrant?

Anything that they can prove that damages your engine because of a mod will void the warranty. If the CZ ECU damage the engine in any manner, then your warranty will be screwed. But I doubt it would... since people have taken it off and put it back on.

Is it quick to take back off and put on. And will it have to re-learn everything? That seems like a waste of time.
