I've seen a video of some guy who had his car in reverse at the track and tried to launch that way... As long as he doesn't do that I would be happy lol.

to be honest the best thing for you to do is just roll the start. i went to the strip and dumped it at 4 or 5 and i was surprised at how much grip the track had (it was my first time out). i could tell it was really hard on my dirvetrain and the next run i just eased off the clutch then floored it. if youre just there to have fun and you dont care too much about time, this would be best. everyone there should understand. i think haha....

Exactly. Use the clutch like you would pulling from a stop sign then floor it. Keep your shifts smooth and don't dump the clutch after you shift lol. Your time will be slower but your car will thank you for it. Unless you can afford a new clutch tranny etc or that hour of fun will be months of headaches with a broken car in your driveway. As soon as you hear the beep shift. But shift slowly.

Yes and Yes.

For your first run, launch like you're aggressively leaving a stop light on the street. Drive around the waterbox, and don't worry about a burnout. Unless you want to look like a complete jackass, don't rev it up and drop the clutch until you know what the track conditions are.

you should rev up to 8000 rpm and then move your left foot to the side so the clutch just springs back by itself!!
