Keyless entry remote battery dead at 6 months WTF!
#26
Get real. I occasionally get defective batteries in my flashlights. It happens. Batteries aren't perfect. If your replacement battery dies in 6 months, then you may have a case for a defective or poorly designed remote.

My remote stopped working after less than a year. I was at the dealer bitching about the brake recall and complained, they just gave me a new remote.

All the cars I have had for the last 10 years had remotes for keyless entry and they all lasted for well over a year. My '99 Passat lasted for three years and was still working when I traded it for my Audi.
I opened it up to check for corrosion or something out of the ordinary but it was clean. Has anyone else had to replace the battery in their remotes yet?
