Cool Kabura

Would you buy a Kabura if it had a Rotary engine?

If they brought it in at 2500lbs I would be up for one. We need less weight not more power!

What I really want is a rotary powered Elise.

That will cost you 51k plus modding it to a 3 rotor

It is closer to reality now that Mazda has been demonstrating fwd rotaries (hydrogen Mazda 5)

A used elise is 38k. Hmm. :p

if they give it 350+ hp, keep the weight down (2500-3000 lbs), get rid of all the gay, eclipse-looking plastic on the tail end, fixed the backend so it doesn't look so chopped-off (they could study the saturn sky), fixed the front so it doesn't look like a gay opel, and keep everything that's cool about the RX's, then YES. i would trade-in my 8 for one in a heartbeat.

I saw the Lotus Elise in MD. They aren't THAT expensive. Lots of things are optional but in the case of the Elise Less is more!

I don't want a tiny roadster. I want more power -- not less weight. The 8 is as small as I want to go.

The Kabura is supposed to be a $20k car. If they somehow squeezed a rotary into that price range I'd hate to see the compromises it would have elsewhere.

The Kabura with a rotary would push off absolutely everything else on my (very small as it is) shortlist.

Actually, that wouldn't even matter to the Kabura because if it was produced it would be RWD.

You're not looking for a Kabura/RX-3, you're looking for an RX-7. At ~20K, I highly doubt you are getting a 350hp rotary.

some what agree with you, I dont want to go smaller, a 30 hp more 200lbs ligther rx-8 be perfect, I dont need 4 doors and dont need back seats.

there's allready a very cheap rx-8 for sale in japan with the 4 port engine and the 5 spped manual it is close to $22,000( I think is less dont remember very well), they can make a rotary kabura for $20,000

Just got my 8, so no not for at least 5 years
Besides the design of the Kabura looks too similar to the RX8. Mazda should really come up with something more original. Like what they did with the RX-8
Plus the price had to be right- i just don't see a $20K Rotary sports car as a possiblity.
