just to share the thoughts of a friend
my friend in college, who is an avid fan of wrx's, drives a 99 lude i believe... well anyways i took her out to the dealership to take a test drive of a silver 8 with gt. the sales rep was a little apprehensive wtih letting me drive as she thought i only wanted a joy ride so i decided to keep it under 6k rpms. said "friend" complained all the way home about the lack of power and i was like i know i didnt take it past 6k, and if i did u would've have seen a whole new machine being borne and i told her its just like her vtec lude, it doesnt really kick in untill a certain rpm, i believe around 5500-6k. she totally loved the car inside and out so her only qualm was with the power and this is what she left in her profile on this beautiful friday,
"1.3 liters is a drink... not a displacement."
and i...beign such a connoisuer of cars and the utmost admirer of my future 8 began to weep ... "
-talk amonst yaselves, talk amongst yaselves, goodnite

Even keeping it at 6k, you should see some decent acceleration in 3rd and 4th. On the other hand, if you're zooming, it'll be hard to not have it hit 7k or higher because it'll rev so quickly.

Yes, I'm glad that it's not really on par with the drag racers and rice cars... on the other hand, I don't really like the attention I seem to be getting from people who want to race.

your friend is not exactly the owner of a largest displacement vehicle in the world in the H22A (which is 2.2 liters). it is has almost one liter more capacity than our puny little Renesis yet we put out 238.
if she's used to a prelude then she should be familiar with the concept of a high rpm powerband. in fact....in terms of power delivery i wouldn't say the two are that different. both have okay torque at low rpm's but the high rpm is where they really shine. the prelude from vtec till redline and the rx-8 from around 6-7k up.
