these lights at 13000k will be very purple. the kelvin temperature is a measure of the color. the human eye only sees part of the light spectrum, that which is known as visible light. Natural light is around 5000K (don't quote me), and provides the more intense light output to the human eye. A higher Kelvin temp shifts the color to the blue spectrum and then to purple. This corresponds to a loss in visible light. they're not bad for seeing at nite, but they certainly aren't as good as our stock HID 4300k. purple will probably annoy some people too, cops included. Ultraviolet light is also known to cause fatigue because it forces your eyes to work harder. Anything over 5000K will cause reduced usable light. The stock bulbs (4300K) are the brightest you can buy. If you want whiter light, swap the projectors with a pair from the TSX. |
sorry for the late reply, been busy with school...taking 21 hours of college and working 40 hours a week is quite a busy life.
But anyways, yes they are 13000K bulbs. Ill take pics this weekend. They are very bright. And very good at night. They show off things you thought you would never see at night. |

what ngo and rasp said are correct, but they didnt post the why. obviously, its been stated that 13k is well into the ultra violet/purple color range. the reason that sucks for the human eye is that we respond best to light in the yellow color range. and since purple is the compliment* to yellow, it is actually the worst possible light range to have installed as head lights.
*what is a color compliment? if you take equal amounts of both colors, they mix to form gray. meaing they would be directly opposite each other on a color wheel. |
