Just got mine, too!
I picked up my 2004 6sp GT on Friday. I love the way it drives. Nordic Green with Chapparal interior. I filled it up on the way home (half a tank) and got 22 mpg. This was all interstate at 65-75 mph, and nothing over 4k rpm. I haven't filled up again, but it looks like I may not have one of the "10mpg curse" cars.
A few points: The manual states that the DSC OFF button turns off the DSC/TCS system. It makes no statement that the TCS stays on when DSC is turned off. Was this changed from earlier manuals?
Also, the seat heaters seem to work very well. My butt got well heated, and my daughter turned hers off because she got too hot. Maybe I'm lucky.
The manual says nothing about type of oil (synth. vs. dino), but the "Driver's Reference Card" states to check the oil frequently and top off with "high quaility non-synthetic 5W-20 oil."
My car's build date is 4/04, and the VIN is about 37500.

Enjoy!
I like that green too, but our previous car, which we had a long time, was Hunter Green. So I figured that's enough green for a while.

Yes, I'm having lots of fun. (Even keeping it below 4000 rpm - mostly) I'm in SW Wisconsin, and even tried turning off the DSC for a bit. It really works well, but was stopping my 4-wheel snowy road drifts wayyyyy too early.
I'll post more info tonight, but I live in Wisconsin, and bought at Biggers Mazda in Elgin (Chicago). I paid $27,052 plus TTL. I could have done better, I think, but there were only 2 Nordic/Chapparal 6sp cars in all of Wis, Minn, Ill, and Iowa. I also didn't want the price to change after the fire.
