Just Drove Her home...and...
...I've got a question.
I noticed on my drive home, approx. 40 miles, that there was a distinct smell...like burning oil. Now the dealership told me it uses oil and that I should check it every 3 oil changes or so...because the rotary actually burns a bit. But I didn't expect to actually smell it. Is this just new engine breakin and did you all notice the same thing?
And by the way...I'm so stoked to drive this thing to work tomorrow.

Yeah, just like RX-GR8 said, I had the exact same smell and I even saw some faint smoke in my headlight's beam when I got out of the car. I was quite surprised, but it seems to be normal. It went away since then, and the car isn't on fire either :D
Just some coating burning off.

Yup, the exhaust systems smell until they burn a coating off, doesn't take long.
By the way, check your oil every 3 GAS FILL-UPS or so. It won't need oil that often, but it certainly will need oil added more than every 3 oil changes! (that's 15,000 miles)
