Just bought A New Rx8
Just bought a new winning blue Rx8 with leather. Had only 20 miles on it (pre reg model)
192 version - i couldnt justify 2 grand for upgraded bulbs, silly pedals and another gear!
More than happy- picking it up saturday!
One thing i wanted to ask, how many litres are in the tank when the fuel light comes on? Most cars are around 6, is this the same?

Mine has right around 10 litres in the tank when the light comes on (not sure how much is in the engine
)
Mine's the same as DarkBrew's - ten left at the light, and a fill is exactly fifty litres.
An important point on the five speed is to use max power every day or so, when the car is thoroughly warmed up - keeps the deadly carbon buildup at bay!
Have fun!

I couldnt see too much of a difference performance wise between the 192 and 231 thats why i bought it. I've test drove the 231 but not the 192. I hope i won't notice the 0.8 seconds lol. Not that id ever waste my clutch dumping it to get a launch like that.
OP, i honestly do not understand why in the name of jesus you would choose a lower hp vehicle that had a higher hp counterpart, because of a little bit of money?!?!
son, if you bought an rx-8 and spent the extra charges of a sports car (insurance, etc.) to enjoy the feel and looks of a sports car then first of all you must realize what a "sports car" entails....which is performance. unless of course your a posing ricer who just wants to look flashy in his 8 (in that case, perhaps this forum isn't the place for you
)i don't know about you, but when i spend extra money to buy a sports car, i am buying looks AND performance.
son, 2 grand is chump change if you were able to afford an rx-8 in the first place. perhaps it is time you reflect on why it is you chose to buy an rx-8 and if you do indeed find that you are a ricer at heart, PM me for a lot of great sites and deals that i can give you with some bad *** spoilers!!!!

congrats on your purchase and dont listen to all these ******** who think 30 horsepower is a pee pee extension or something. To some people, staight line performance isnt a priority and you still have a canyon carver anyways. Enjoy it. Be sure to post pics
Congrats on the new car. It's gonna be long wait till Saturday... Get some pics up when you get a chance.
BTW He's not in the US so hence the 192/231 and I'm sure the 2 grand difference is much more in US dollars...

The 192hp car is the oversea's (from US point of view) 5 Speed 4 port motor option for less money. I think. The 212 is when they went to 6 port setup on the 6 speed automatic cars. 232 is the "high" horsepower 6 port manual set up.
Since the 232 "high" horserpower probably makes closer to 210 from what everyone's dyno shows the 192 hp car isnt that much less. And some have said the 5 speed manual is stronger than the 6 speed manual. The same 5 speed used in the last RX7tt ?
Any non-US owners race a 192hp 4 port manual against a 232hp 6 port manual? Results?
But this is what I have gathered form various post from this web site,....so not etched in stone.

It's the OP's money, and the OP's car. If he wanted the slow one, thats fine, but I've seen several threads from people who got the 4 port and regretted it later.
Its a fabulous car. Check your oil often, break it in right, and then drive it like you stole it.
g0d d4mn wh0 typ3 1n 1337 4ny m0r3?
anyway, u gonna spend more $$ modding the 4 port to reach 6 port's power i think if u just pay the $$ to the dealer upfront, but whatever makes you happy. but it's okai, just don't let people know that you drive the baby version...

Does anyone else notice a logical inconsistency?
Allow me to quote an excerpt from the previous rant:
"OP, i honestly do not understand why in the name of jesus you would choose a lower hp vehicle that had a higher hp counterpart, because of a little bit of money?!?!

What I find interesting is that the majority of posters are quick to jump on anyone who suggests XYZ is a better car because it has more power and straight-line speed. "It's not about the quarter-mile!" they insist. "It's about the cornering etc."
Yet you don't hear the same defense when it comes to comparing the auto and manual RX. Either it's about power or it isn't--and if it is for you, then you probably bought the wrong car.
