It's been a short but fun time!
Well everyone, I will not be around too often, not that many of you got to know me yet. But my 8 "Maggie" was totaled last weekend due to what we believe was the catalytic converter overheating, and catching the car on fire.
I had just changed the sparkplugs, was driving it around and it began to run extremely poorly. I thought I would just nurse it home and figure out what was going on. Instead I had smoke start to flow out of the air vents and once I stopped the car things went downhill from there.
I could not possibly be more upset about losing her, I put tons of hours into finding exactly the car I wanted. Now she's gone.
I hope nobody has the same fate that i did. She was an awesome car more fun to drive than anything I have ever owned.
You can take 2005 Shinka # 1295 off the list, she is history.

Thanks, I was alone and I am not hurt. You're right, it's a car. They can be replaced. I acted a little more my age, (I'm 43) and bought an 03 Mercedes CLK500. Very sleek, sexy car, and it's an automatic, so my wife can drive it....lol
I was just so disheartened, I couldn't bear the thought of getting another 8 right away. In the few months I had her she became a member of the family... Ok I sound like a freak now...lol.
Anyway, I will stop in and keep up with everyone.. enjoy the revs folks!!

Yeah Scooter, I feel like I have let the rotary community down by having a Shinka pass away....
Maybe I will just hold out and see what the next rotary is that Mazda brings to market and trade up to that.

Glad you're alright, though. Don't be a stranger, you don't need an 8 to be active!
