Items next to the jack?

I'm curious - there are a couple of things that look like bolts next to the jack. What are these things?

Most likely they are the keys to you're wheel locks. That way no one can just jack your car up and steal your wheels. If you put it up to the lugs it should fit one on each tire.

Maybe he is talking about the tow hooks? It is used when your car is being towed I think. It is inserted in the bumper.

Hook holes....

The bolts go in some little threaded holes, front and back...

The front is behind a little flap at the top right of the grille, and the back 'tie down hole cover' is on the right of the fake grille by the passenger side exhaust.

Used them last night.......don't want to discuss it!

Doc,
sorry to hear about your 8.
I thought tow hooks were only needed to transport the cars via car carriers. If so, why tote around the extra weight?
I guess not. No one likes to be on the hook.
Thanks,
Blaaz

DO NOT use those bolts in an attempt to tow your car, they were not designed for that purpose. Those bolts were used for tying down and stabilizing your car in the shipping process from Japan.

Would you need them if the car was being transported on one of those flat bed car transporters? If not, should we just pull them out? Seems like a lot of extra weight at the very back of the car.

Sounds like doc needed them the other day. Of course, if it comes to flat bedding your car, the car is probably already FUBAR.
