I'd be willing to buy 2 gallons depending on price.

I'm using FP+ for half a year or so.
Will buy gallon or two if price is right.

Can a moderator please make a poll for the thread

"How many gallons of FP+ do you want"
A)1
B)2
C)3
D)4

This way you can track how many potential gallons will be purchased and we can get accurate pricing for the discount.

Oh, and if possible, tally up all the amount of gallons wanted.

Well I think it all depends on the price, but I guess would be willing to purchase...

+1 to this idea

And also, if you could provide us goal-lines to reach, for example if 30 gallons get a certain discount etc. I'd gladly extend for an extra gallon if it would get the group a larger discount.

I can't say yet until the Group Buy is paid for by the vendor, who first has to become a member here, so it may take a day or two to set up. I offered to do it for him in case he doesn't want to become a member. But the good news is that he emailed today that he's ready to move forward and has already set up the discount code to work on their website.

I don't think we're going to have that kind of volume to warrant a higher discount. I count 13 people so far with a few of us thinking of buying 2 gallons. He had initially offered the discount for 10 people and subsequently learned about the fee to start a group buy so I think we'll probably stay on the low volume scale. I think the best rationale for ordering more than 1 gallon is that it doesn't cost much more to ship 2 gallons than to ship 1 gallon.

Quick Update: Group Buy is paid for and I've asked one of the mods to help LCD, Inc get the thread started. Apparently we're experiencing some technical difficulties, but I expect it to be worked out soon.

I don't understand why we need a group buy. Just post the coupon code and we can all use it.

RX7.com Rotary Performance That is where I get Idemitsu. I'm interested in getting a gallon of FP Plus as well.

I imagine it's because group buys are a source of income for the website and I didn't want to subvert the process so I just did as I was told by one of the mods.

I don't see any demand for group buys being forced when someone posts a coupon for Autozone, or even discounts at Sonic. I don't know why this is any different.

The point of a group buy is to get something cheaper. When someone's hand is in the pot, it reduces the discount we get.

Vendors already pay an assload to get on the site. This just seems like a hassle and a disservice to us.

I'm sure my thoughts on the matter aren't going to amount to anything. I just though I'd share.

I was a bit surprised as well, but it does cost some money to keep a website running so I don't begrudge RX8Club a small piece of the pie. Hmmm ... Pie. AFAIK, LCD, Inc would not have to pay an additional fee to be a full-time vendor just to do a one-time group buy. Don't know how much that costs. I have heard what it costs to have your own vendor forum here, and that's not cheap. But in my world that's all just part of the cost of doing business, so to speak, litterally in this case. Someone has to pay to keep the lights on.

Should have just had the company make a user and post the coupon code in a thread with a link to their site. Too many hands in the pot ruins the soup. By the time all of this is said and done, how much will we actually be saving?

I'm not allowed to say, but it's not that much, certainly not worth all the hassle for those involved in trying to get this working. Last I heard, they were going to try and resolve the technical problems again this morning.
