Interest in a Group Buy for FP Plus Premix?

Hi, guys.

Edit: Here's the 10% Discount code: RX8club

Here's the official group buy thread for FP Plus by LCD Inc:
https://www.rx8club.com/group-buy-center-85/lube-control-products-group-buy-176794/

No longer any need to let us know if you're interested in a coupon group buy on FP Plus by LCD, Inc (gallon) or quart.

This will be for a limited time so act now. Don't worry about ordering a gallon before you need it, shelf life is 4-5 years.

In case some of you are wondering, one of the most popular recipes for pre-mix here is Idemitsu and FP Plus. See Jax's list of various options here, where this premix is ranked highest. FP Plus is a lubricious cleaner. Lubricious means it will not harm the protective oil films inside your rotary as do some more aggressive solvent fuel additives such as BG 44K, Gumout, Seafoam, Techron, etc. FP Plus is apparently unique in that it also contains cyclohexanone, which emulsifies carbon into a colloidal graphite lubricant. Turning something bad in our engines into additional lubicration, which is very good. You don't need much, only about one ounce for every 10 gallons at fill-up. I typically add about 4 oz of Idemitsu and 2 oz of FP Plus at every fill-up. I mix it ahead of time and carry around a few 6 oz bottles in my trunk.

But please don't ask me about the technical stuff, this is just what I've learned here, mostly from Jax before he traded in his 8 for a Ford F150 of all things! If you're interested in discussing other premix options, see this gargantuan thread.

i'm almost out of my gallon jug of fp plus, so I'd be game.

I just checked my receipt, and this is what it cost me back then:

Subtotal: $47.50
FedEx Ground: $8.90
Grand Total: $56.40

JinDesu 05-28-2009 06:52 PM

I'm interested. I'm currently running solely Idemitsu, so I want to include FP into it.

CarAndDriver 05-29-2009 02:12 AM

I use FP Plus. I'm game.

I think that's the ONLY place to purchase Idemitsu without being a vendor or something... I got mine there

Still, 2 oz fp would equate to nearly 15k miles =p

I'm settling for 1oz myself.. 1 gallon should last me at least 2 years :)

I shall follow that philosophy with great passion when I have some money to burn.

Although I do not have a commute for work at all, so the only driving I do is for fun =p

Haha, you could say that =p I plan to start doing track days after I change my oil out..

How many people do we need for a group buy?

kvndoom 05-30-2009 10:30 AM

I'm interested!

robrecht 05-30-2009 01:46 PM

OK, I count 10 interested so far. I'll email LCD to verify they still want to proceed and report back. In the meantime, if anyone else is interested, let us know so you can also be included. I'll probably buy 2 gallons just to save more on shipping--doesn't cost much more to ship 2 gallons than to ship 1 gallon.
